Why Leaffree Stands Above The Rest
The mesh is an Aluminium with a 15-year warranty or a marine-grade Stainless Steel with a 20-year warranty. It has a high-quality polyurethane coating coloured to match your roof.
- Full CSIRO Fire Rating: Both the Aluminium and Stainless Steel mesh are fully CSIRO fire-rated.
- Smallest Apertures Available: The mesh has 2mm apertures (the smallest available) and can also be used for ember-proofing buildings in accordance with the building code in high fire-zone areas. This effectively ember-proofs the gutters and seals gaps under the Colourbond or tiles, protecting the roof space.
- Clean Tank Water: If you’re on tank water, you will collect all of your water, and it will be clean.
The mesh uses the multinational adhesive company 3M's VHB (Very High Bond) adhesive attachment system, which is 100% UV stable and fully warranted to the Leaffree company by 3M. There is no drilling into the roof and gutters, avoiding potential corrosion issues while maintaining a neat appearance. Because of the exceptional 3M adhesive system, the product is also very effective in sealing off solar panels by sticking to the edge of the panels and down onto the roof. This stops debris from being caught and prevents birds from nesting under them.
- Optional Screw-Down Fasteners: We can offer screw-down fasteners if desired, but this is additional to the adhesive system—not a replacement for it. This does cost extra. Using these fasteners is not necessary, as the adhesive is part of the warranty. However, we offer this option to accommodate clients who prefer mechanical fasteners.
We have many photos of other gutter guard products that we’ve replaced. These include large aperture, ineffective tuck-in varieties or products only held down by fasteners, which have worked free and failed. In some cases, the direct contact of the mesh combined with the pressure of the screw-down fasteners (without the barrier of adhesive) has caused pitting and corrosion (see photo). The damage is quite apparent.
The adhesive creates a contact barrier and doesn’t exert the same contact pressure as screw-down varieties, making it much safer for Colourbond or Zincalume roofs.

Easy Maintenance: Being a fine woven mesh, it is fully visible through the gutters (unlike many other gutter guards) and can be pressure-cleaned or washed through with a hose if dust builds up over time. Naturally, rain will wash away most of the debris.
Using a company-certified installer ensures it is installed to spec and that warranties are fully covered.
